The choice between EF and AFS ultimately depends on your personal preferences and goals. EF offers a wide range of programs in various destinations, while AFS focuses more on cultural exchange and immersion. If you are looking for a structured program with a specific focus, EF might be a better option. On the other hand, if you value cultural immersion and community involvement, AFS could be the right choice for you. It's important to research both options thoroughly and consider your own priorities before making a decision. **

Additionally, consider incorporating your goals and aspirations, as well as how participating in the AFS program aligns with them. One can forget culture and heritage by not actively engaging with it, by being disconnected from one's roots and community, and by prioritizing other aspects of life over preserving and celebrating one's cultural identity. This can happen through assimilation into a different culture, lack of exposure to one's own cultural traditions and practices, and a lack of interest in learning about one's heritage. Additionally, societal pressures and discrimination can also contribute to the erasure of one's culture and heritage. **
